Christmas Nails: Festive Penguins

Christmas Nails: Festive Penguins

There's not much I love more at Christmas than painting my nails. I saw a design like this on Pinterest, and decided to recreate the look. Here's what you'll need:

  • A mint Coloured varnish- here I have Rimmel 60 Seconds
  • Matte Black Nail Varnish- Barry M
  • Matte White Nail Varnish- Barry M
  • Brown Nail Varnish- Revlon Expresso
  • Orange Nail Varnish- Collection 60 Seconds
  • Green Nail Varnish- NYC
  • Blue Nail Varnish- Barry M
  • Red Nail Varnish- Drop Dead Gorgeous
  • Glitter Nail Varnish- Seventeen         (Optional)
  • Clear Top Coat- Barry M Plump Top Coat

1. First Things first, either apply your fake nails or a base coat onto natural nails.
 2. Take the Mint colour and apply 2 coats to your
nails.

3.Use the Black to draw an oval on each nail and fill it in, this will be the base for your penguins. *At this point, you can add glitter over the black if you want.
4.Use the White to draw the inside circle of the penguin.  Paint on black eyes to each penguin.

 5. Use the orange to draw on flippers, and an orange beak on 3 of your nails. Draw on a red nose to the other 2. I would recommend choosing the thumb and ring finger as these have spaces in between.

   6. Use the brown to draw on antlers. Draw on hats with red and green; then use a dotting tool to make the holly.
 7. Dot the end of the Santa hat in white, draw on small leaves for the holly. Then dot the end of the elf hat with red and draw on a small scarf using the blue.

8.Finish off the design by applying 1-2 coats of Top Coat. Enjoy!

Winter Pamper Routine!

Winter Pamper Routine

Hey Guys, Ginger Fox Here!

When you have a full time job or commitment, it can be very easy to forget to take some time out for yourself. So here I have come up with a super easy routine which will make you feel tonnes more relaxed and give you that much needed me time.

1. Run a Bath

Find a time that best suits you; light a couple of nice candles; put on some calming music or a video and start to run your bath. If you have any bubble bath or a Bath bomb- pop them into the tub and enjoy the fragrance as you soak. If it was me, I would also have a glass of wine. For relaxing purposes... obviously.

Sometimes it's just not practical to have a bath, and that's fine. Instead- pick out your favourite scented shower gel and a body scrub if you have one and take your time massaging all over your body, concentrating on any tight muscles.

2. Apply a Face Mask

If you can do this while you lie in the bath- that's great! (You can still do it in the shower too)
I recently purchased a new face mask by NSPA- and I have been absolutely loving it! It makes my skin feel really refreshed- you can find it here. Leave it on for around 10 minutes and wash it off with a damp flannel.

3. Moisturise your Skin

Once you get out of the bath or shower, pick up your favourite body butter and massage it into your skin. Not only will your skin end up super soft- it will smell amazing too! Make sure you also moisturise your face at this point. I use this moisturiser.

4. Get into comfy clothes

Search out either your fluffiest Pyjamas or loungewear, this part is really important! It will make you feel cosy, warm, and most importantly; relaxed!

5. Relax for the Evening!

This is the easiest part: because you don't have to do a thing! Either order in a takeaway, have a glass of wine or simply watch some good TV. This is your time so make it as you want it.

I hope you found this useful!

Skincare Routine for Oily Skin

Skincare For Oily Skin

Hey Guys, Ginger Fox Here!

Having Oily Skin can be a real pain. Especially when you are constantly having bad breakouts. As someone with incredibly oily skin, I can tell you that I have done a lot of research on this in the hope of preventing such breakouts; and now I think I have found a routine that works well for me. I wanted to share this with you in the hope it does the same for you :)

1. Wash your Face

This might seem obvious but it's surprising how much you can forget to do this sometimes. It's easy enough to do when you have a shower, but you really should be washing your hair twice a day if you can. This way any build up of oil and dirt accumulated throughout the day can be washed off.

2. Ex-foliate

When I was a teen, I didn't really know what ex-foliating was and I left it out of my skin routine. My skin was always flaky around my nose which caused more spots due to blocking my pores. When I finally started ex-foliating, it took me a good year to find the right scrub for me. They were all either too harsh or too gentle. Then I found St.Ives Apricot Scrub, and I have never looked back since. This is hands down my favourite facial scrub and I will never switch it. As an added bonus it is made out of walnut shell, so it is completely natural. I ex-foliate every 2-3 days.

3. Moisturising

To be honest, the first time I read about moisturising oily skin, I was sceptical. I mean- my skin was oily enough without adding anything else into the mix! However I was completely wrong. As I have sensitive skin I use simple light moisturiser, and it works wonders for me.

Another option here- to avoid any chemicals contained within conventional moisturisers- is to use Argan Oil. The first day I tried this, it felt strange. But after a few minutes it soaks right in and it is really nice. I also add in tea tree oil to mine because it has anti-bacterial properties.

4. Face Masks

Face masks are an essential part of any good skincare routine- however they are often forgotten. I recommend using a face mask once a week if possible, to provide a deep cleanse that may not be achieved with your every day face wash and make-up removers. If you don't like the feel of a mud mask, you can buy a peel off mask to save mess, you can buy one here.

5. Diet

Diet is a big part of having healthy skin, because if you don't look after yourself inside- your body won't be healthy on the outside. Foods such as nuts and fish are good for skin because they contain essential vitamins. You can find out more here.

6. Drink Water

Drinking water is one of the best ways to rid your body of toxins. It is recommended to drink 8 glasses of water each day (2 litres). If you aren't keen on the taste of water- try adding in some fruit to it to give it some flavour. Lemon water is a brilliant way to cleanse your body and if you drink it first thing in the morning- it can help to kick start your metabolism.

7. Primer

The first time I wore make-up, nobody told me about using primer. It wasn't until last year that I decided to give it a go. If you haven't used primer before- you should. It basically provides a barrier on your skin and stops foundation soaking into your pores and causing blockages. It also makes your make-up go on a lot further.

8. Sun care

I can't urge this strongly enough: look after your skin when you go out in the sun. Not only can your skin become badly burnt, but you can end up with age spots and even cancer. It is really important to wear sun lotion before you go out into the sun and also apply after sun when you come back inside to stop your skin from drying out. Another point is that when you sweat- your pores get blocked and this can cause spots- so make sure you wash your body well.

That's it!

I hope this helps you with your skin, thanks for reading! xoxo
